Works very quickly. Makes lots of eyes. Do you make sure that every so often you stir around the bucket. So that it doesn't block up.
Ice was being made in 7 minutes once all the set up was completed per instructions. Within a 12 hour period, we had 6 one gallon freezer bags full. It's as awesome as I'd hoped! So,easy to use! It hardly takes up any space, we use the filtered water from our refrigerator. The ice is the BEST!!
I have been wanting a nugget ice maker for quite awhile. I am an avid ice chewer. I worried that I would break a tooth chewing my cube ice from my refrigerator freezer. The nuggets are just like the Sonic ice. And the ice maker is way cheaper than the high priced GE.
It is quiet ( as much noise as a new dishwasher), steadily drops ice and takes up as much space on the counter as a bread machine. I just made my 1st 8-lb bag of ice. Granted, the ice piles up and you have to scatter the pile so it keeps dropping, but I devoted an afternoon/evening stockpiling my ice. My bag should last me about a week, depending on how much outside work I do in this +95 degree heat.
One hint, empty the full bin into a plastic bowl, and put it in the freezer for about 15-20 min, allowing it to "re-freeze" since the ice is wet. This "dries" the ice. Then dump it into a plastic ice bag and give it a smack. The nuggets shatter loose for easy scooping.
If all subsequent batches are as good at the 1st, I am a happy customer.

Was wanting a easy chewable ice. This maker did the trick. Was easy to set up, made ice quickly (Was producing ice within 5 min.) and fills bin in a timely manner. Water bin is easy to drain and clean. Came with an ice scoop, was plastic but works.
