I was looking for a good counter top ice maker for our 22 person 24/7 shop. After researching multiple brands and models, including reading hundreds of reviews on different platforms, I learned far more about counter top ice makers than I had ever wanted to. I opted to purchase the "EUHOMY Luna Pro LunaArc™️ Portable Crystal Crescent Ice Maker" based on the following criteria:
1. EUHOMY looks to be a trusted manufacturer of ice makers, focusing solely on ice makers. That industry expertise led me to believe that more likely than not, even though the LunaArc is a new model producing different cubes from all others on the market thus far, the design and function would be based on existing well-tested and trusted design and function technology.
2. Multiple other EUHOMY ice maker models, regardless of size, received some of the highest rankings and most positive reviews out of the hundreds of models that can be purchased from various manufacturers. To me this indicates that, overall, the manufacturer produces quality products regardless of capacity/size of the machine.
3. Excellent customer service was mentioned time and again in different reviews for different EUHOMY products. This is important because regardless of how well a product is rated things can always go wrong and when making an investment with my employer's money I want to know that the company stands behind its products.
4. The machine comes with a one year warranty.
5. I estimated that the capacity of this ice maker at 28 lbs per day would most likely serve our shop's needs.
6. The ice maker was purchased to provide ice that would both keep beverages cold while our staff walks around in hot weather, and ice that could be used in ice packs in case of first-aid emergencies. For these reasons, the slow melt rate of the crescent ice cubes was preferable to all other ice shapes and sizes produced by other counter top machines.
7. The size of the machine fits our space well.
8. The machine has an easy to fill water reservoir, either by pouring water in directly, or removing the reservoir to take it to a water source for filling.
9. The machine has clear indicator lights and icons for the different cycles and notifications.
10. The machine has an automatic cleaning cycle to help keep it clean.
11. Between the promotional price offered and a coupon code I had, I was able to purchase the LunaArc for less than half of its retail price.
We've only had the LunaArc up and running for two weeks, but so far so good. No immediate issues have arisen and the machine consistently produces clear, thick, crescent shaped ice cubes. The noise level while the pump is working to pull water through the machine is tolerable- no ice maker will ever be silent. It is not overly loud and does not make any unexpected noises. Anecdotally, I filled my 40 oz. insulated water bottle most of the way with the ice cubes and the remainder with cold water, and a full 24 hours later I could still hear some ice sloshing around inside the bottle. Multiple shop employees have also expressed their gratitude for the ice, so they are happy with the product too. Based on the research I completed I expect this ice maker (really any counter top model) to last for at least one year with the advised regular maintenance and cleaning, so if we get that or more I will be happy!
This is one of my new favorite appliances! I already have an ice machine, but in the Arizona summers I wanted to have extra ice as a backup. This is perfect for my needs and is fancy for cocktails.
Also, I've noticed when we take the kids to the pool this ice takes forever to melt and keeps the cool drinks. It's great to have on hand for parties as it gives essentially unlimited ice. It is so easy to clean. I have been using it now most days of the week for about a month and have had no issues. It delivers spectacular ice that is crystal-clear.
