This ice maker has greatly improved my life. Everyone in my house likes ice in their drinks. The built-in ice maker in my counter depth fridge was not doing the job. This countertop wonder makes new ice every 10 minutes. We put filtered water in it and the ice tastes no different than the water from the fridge dispenser. It's nice clear ice in square cubes. Very fancy. When the bin is full, it pauses in running. We turn it off at night and back on in the morning. It has an icon that flashes when it is out of water. Even if you don't notice it right away, no big deal. There will be new ice 10 minutes after water is added.
Now the down sides...but they aren't problems that would prevent me from keeping this machine. It is noisier than I would like. There is a fan that runs when it is making ice. I have a great room style living/dining/kitchen and the ice maker is definitely audible while watching TV. I don't think it would be an issue at all if my living room was farther away. It's not annoying, just present. The other tiny issue is that the ice comes out in a 3x6 grid of cubes. We increased the setting to prevent the ice from getting too thick, but it still comes out in that chunk that we have to break up with the ice scoop. My kids enjoy smashing the ice. I wish there was an ice scoop holder. We have a mug on the counter next to the machine to hold the scoop.
Overall, I love this ice maker. We use it every day. I would estimate that we fill it with water twice a day. We have had it for 2 weeks so I can't speak to the longevity. I hope it lasts for years.
Customer service, although not within my Time zone was responsive in getting back to me, I use SO MUCH ice, every day, and this machine pumps out crystal clear ice. I love the ice that comes out of this ice maker. I use an above average quantity of ice and this machine meets my needs! Again, I love the crystal-clear ice and because it is not being made or stored in your freezer the ice is completely free of smells or tastes the freezer may add.
If you want perfect ice, then this is the perfect ice maker for you. Mine is making ice all day long! I love it.
We found it in second hand store for 20.00. Took it home cleaned it up. Best 20.00 I ever spent. Going on it’s second Summer in the RV. Works so well we bought a new one for the patio.
